JS Unitrade Merchandise, Inc., a subsidiary of First SLP Holdings, is a nationwide distributor of paper and personal care products, whose vision is to enhance the lives of Filipinos through better hygiene. Established in the 1980s, we have emerged as a prime mover of baby care, feminine hygiene and geriatric care products. We proudly carry Asian-made disposable baby diapers, adult diapers and underpads, pantyliners and sanitary pads, baby wipes and paper tissues.

 COMPANY HISTORY

Everything has a beginning.

JS Unitrade Merchandise, Inc. was founded in 1980 by Mr. Samuel Po, an idealistic and hard-working student from an entrepreneurial family.

The company, then a partnership between Mr. Po and a friend dealing with electrical products, started out modestly. After a few years, the friends parted amicably and Mr. Po took full ownership of the company. He was on his own.

The 1980’s were the formative years of the company as Mr. Po honed his skills in business, entrepreneurship and brand-building. He ventured into several businesses with various successes.

Mr. Po got into the disposable diaper business quite by chance. When Mr. Po’s first son was born in 1989, Mr. Po could not find a steady supply of disposable diapers. In the course, however, he discovered Taiwanese brands that were just as good, if not better, than established multinational brands.

Thus Mr. Po began distributing imported brands from Taiwan which consumers warmly embraced for their quality and affordability. JS Unitrade Merchandise, Inc. had found a niche. The company also found a dependable and loyal partner in Ever Beauty, a top Taiwanese manufacturer of disposable baby and adult diapers. It is a strong alliance that continues to this day.

JS Unitrade Merchandise, Inc. is a multi-million dollar company with a gross revenue of $85 million in 2006 and an estimated annual gross revenue of $100 million in 2007

The company currently holds a close #2 position in the baby diapers category next to Procter and Gamble. While, in the incontinence care market, the company dominates the category with SCA occupying a far second.
